Medical malpractice, unprofessional conduct and lack of duty of care

Trigger warning: this post includes mentions of sexual abuse, drugs and suicide. 

These are reviews the victims chose to make public on the Ratemds website. I included them as document #24 to give a clear picture of the narcissistic sociopath victims were dealing with in Deepinder Miller (and the term “victim” is more appropriate than “patient”, especially where coercion was involved. It was coercing victims of abuse to be abused further in a grossly negligent system. Strict regulations are now needed). 

However, legitimate reviews on Miller have been known to “disappear”. Mine did and a few others, like someone who mentioned they visited Glebe Police Station and spoke with a detective there about her. I’m sure Glebe police did nothing, just like my bad experience with the St. George Police Area Command, under a certain arrogant misogynistic superintendent. He’s not there anymore (too many complaints from the community, especially women perhaps?), but the trauma, distrust and carnage he left behind is still there. Regarding ratemds, their “policy” and NSW Police, it’s all coming up later in my story. 

People have a right to know the unprofessional conduct (and obviously worse) regarding Ms. Miller. And it’s been years and years of harm and systemic abuse, mostly coercion from insurers (or colluders in the most diabolical adverse action by narcissistic “leaders” for requesting workplace rights generally protected under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), ironically, like a safe work environment). 

What has SIRA NSW and the HCCC done about this “medical practitioner” and her medical malpractice, professional misconduct and lack of duty of care? NOTHING FOR YEARS. Pages upon pages of very concerning reviews and experiences. I share some (there are too many), going back to 2015, onwards. 

2022

“Please do not visit Dr. Miller and get a second opinion if you have. She has hurt so many people and needs to be stripped of her credentials”. 

“This woman is a Psychopath. She works for the insurance companies. Do not go to see her or you will be worse off than you already are. I refuse to acknowledge her as a doctor. She should be struck off. Evil shallow woman”. 

2021

“Traumatic experience from this doctor / psychiatrist? 

1. Racially profiled me.

2. Stopped listening by cutting me off.

3. Showed no “core conditions” of the therapeutic relationship.

4. Lies and twists things in her report. 

5. Late to appointment. 

6. Has Dual Relationships (business) outside the therapeutic relationship with other psychiatrists that have seen you too (NOTE: proof coming up in a later post when I was coerced to see yet another psycho, this time under workers compensation regulations - Deepi’s friend Melissa Barrett).

7. Is deliberate in making diagnoses to fit in line with workers compensation insurers and their employer legal representatives (NOTE: BINGO).

8. States that your consultation is not a therapeutic one but leaves you feeling suicidal when you leave, and in distress. (NOTE: I will kick and scream until this psycho is struck off registration, to save lives. Suicide prevention is personal and my greater purpose. THE REGULATORS ARE ALL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL). 

9. This is all I would like to state as I do not have the capacity to comprehend this behaviour.

10. Complaining about this situation can be made to the Health Care Complaints Commission of NSW, the Minister for Health, and through a legal representative/s etc. (NOTE: How many complaints has the HCCC received and why had nothing been done, I tried the previous Health Minister, Brad Hazzard, I didn’t even receive a response, and legal representatives, like the IRO approved ones, or the one I tried to explain this psycho’s offences against me that actually did not come under workers compensation regulations? They better immediately start giving a shit about the deception, false statements, lack of duty of care, fraud and medical malpractice of Deepinder Miller). 

2017-2020

• “Doctor Miller was 39 minutes late to the appointment. Doctor Miller claimed that I had multiple missed calls. No such calls were logged. (NOTE: SIRA NSW enforcement and prosecution manager under the former CEO, Adam Dent, tried this same “tactic” on me, to dodge speaking with me. I just kept capturing and compiling the evidence, including that call log. That’s coming up around mid-2021);
• Doctor Miller employed an impatient tone at regular intervals during the call.
• Doctor Miller impressed upon me that time was limited. She later threatened to terminate the assessment if the call dropped out.
• Doctor Miller interrogated me in an aggressive manner.
• Doctor Miller asked me why I had trouble sleeping after I disclosed information that illustrated a clear lineage of the problem that she, as a psychiatrist, would recognise. 
• Doctor Miller insisted that I define a ‘meditation practice’, despite this being a common treatment method in her field.
• I provided a brief explanation of what ACT therapy was in relation to the model my psychologist uses. Dr. Miller stated that, ‘I know that ***** I’m a psychiatrist’. (NOTE: I wonder what was behind *****).
• At times Doctor Miller chose not to understand terminology that is part of the lexicon in her profession. I was required to define clinical terms such as ‘anxiety’ and ‘depression’. 
• Doctor Miller asked questions like ‘have you ever hit anyone’ and ‘who do you blame for the workplace injury’ implying a narrative had been formed prior to the assessment. 
• A reference to my sexuality prompted Doctor Miller to ask: ‘are you gay?’ I corrected the terminology. Doctor Miller again described my orientation again with that label and asked if I ‘had AIDS’. 
• Doctor Miller was focused on my social isolation and relationships. Dr. Miller did not acknowledge the inherent impact of the pandemic and associated lockdown on maintaining interpersonal relationships. 
• Doctor Miller was pre-occupied with the failure of long-term relationships … during my twenties, as if these are clinical determinants of my current mental health. 
• Doctor Miller disputed that my child psychiatrist was a ‘real psychiatrist’ on the basis that she practiced hypnotherapy. Doctor Miller stated that ‘we don’t use those models’. It is not my role to justify why the psychiatrist used that treatment model. I used the internet to verify the psychiatrist’s qualifications for Doctor Miller.
• Doctor Miller asked me if I’d been sexually abused and I disclosed that I had, when I was 7 years old.
• Dr. Miller asked who my abuser was, and if he was in jail. He is not.
• Doctor Miller did not ask any questions about the workplace injury, or the condition of my mental health prior to commencing the contract during which the injury occurred. 
• Doctor Miller did not “carry out the examination in a respectful and professional manner, taking all efforts to preserve your modesty and not exacerbate your condition or cause you pain,” as stipulated on the SIRA website.
• Doctor Miller judged my proactive strategies to manage my mental health prior to the injury in question, repeating the word ‘why’ when I had provided sufficient information. Pressuring me to explain why survivors seek treatment is a strategy designed to elicit an ill-considered response at the expense of my wellbeing. 
• Doctor Miller appeared be seeking opportunities to provoke an inflamed reaction during the conversation. Doctor Miller employed techniques such as cutting me off while I was speaking, using sudden erratic vocal modulations and questioning the information I provided in an impatient way.
• Doctor Miller does 20 psychiatric assessments a week, spending an hour each call, according to her receptionist.
• The assessment was a traumatic experience that compounded my psychological injury.
• I needed to phone Lifeline for support in the wake of this re-traumatisation. 
• Doctor Miller failed to fulfil her duty of care to me as outlined in the code of conduct for doctors in Australia.”

“Awful psychiatrist that does not speak the truth. This doctor must be reported to the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC). SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME and so on…This doctor is horrible, so please be warned. I wonder how she sleeps of an evening?”

“BE WARNED this woman is the worst doctor for your health. Like many reviewing this doctor my experience was horrendous. I was also there for a WorkCover assessment and had no previous experience with the mental health fraternity. She kept me waiting passed my scheduled appointment about 20 minutes, was completely unapologetic and didn’t explain the assessment sufficiently that I understood. 

I signed the release form unbeknown to the type of questions I was going to be asked. After a few questions she accused me of being angry and combative, this was completely opposite to what I was feeling as I was quite calm, accomodating and vulnerable as to what she needed from me. At one stage I was attempting to offer her information to a question she had asked me about, the self research I had done to understand my circumstance. She dismissed me with a condescending comment about “that not being the facts and that maybe she can go back to medical school”. In my assessment report she wrote that I told her that I knew more than she did. This is entirely incorrect as I didn’t respond when she condescendingly shut me down. Btw..my research was from medical doctors specialising in the fields I was looking up. She never got to hear that because she wasn’t interested and made assumptions due to her complete lack of care other than to her own point of view. When I continued to ask for further clarity around the questions she was asking, as again, I wanted to ensure I was understanding what she needed, she got angry and defensive, accusing me of the exact same thing she was demonstrating. When she asked about my drug history, I again asked the purpose of this question and expressed my concern about this being for “public record” as she had already advised me, when signing the form, that all information would not be confidential / medically protected. She basically lost her temper, accusing me again of being angry and aggressive and got up from her chair to open the door and told me to leave. 

I finish off with, after reading the complete inaccuracy of the report, presented to the insurance company by her, she co-operates with the insurance companies so she gets paid and retained as she wouldn’t have any other business. The comments in the report is a complete reflection of the lack of interest and effort put into the assessment”.

“A truly horrible person and awful doctor. She is totally uninterested in her patients and constantly interrupts with ‘I’m a psychiatrist. I get that.’ She is only interested in the money. She is deeply uncaring and is loathed by her patients and colleagues. She is narcissistic, totally self-absorbed and deeply unpleasant. Avoid this terrible dysfunctional doctor, at all costs.”

“The single most twisted doctor I’ve ever come across. She will try to manipulate you in any way possible, to satisfy her narcissistic personality disorder. Unless you have loads of cash to spend on her, then she’s your ‘best friend’.”

“Saw Dr. Miller for WorkCover. I worked in mental health and the long term stress really impacted me to the point of suicide. When I tried to explain my role she just completely dismissed the very function of my work because she thought looking after the rights of people detained in a secure mental health facility was “too American”. When I asked if I could refer to notes I had she said I didn’t need them. When I asked what documents she had on me she said I could see them. When my report came back she hadn’t referenced anything about my work, everything was just my fault. I would say, “Don’t trust her.”

“BE AWARE - no heart whatsoever or empathy. The reviews on this site are FAKE. (NOTE: there are many suspiciously glowing reviews, with five stars to increase the average, among these legitimate and concerning experiences of real reviewers. It seems Miller could be paying a third party to skew the results in her twisted narcissistic way. Hence I question the ethics of ratemds for not ensuring better filters and also quoting “policy” to remove legitimate reviews of traumatic experiences. Consumers have a right to have their say, and to be informed and warned, until regulators finally take disciplinary action). I have heard from GP and specialist friends to stay away from her as she is known to be a money hungry, arrogant narcissist. All I can say is never trust these reviews. It’s sad that people in need are referred to such heartless people - it’s criminal”. 

“I found her to be a terrible psychiatrist. After doing further research I found she had a terrible reputation within the industry. I recommend you find someone else.” 

“Unethical absolute villain. Keep away at all costs. Quite a name in the industry, ask first.” 

“You cannot trust a word this person says. She is manipulative and destructive.”

“Deepinder Miller showed no compassion, appeared to be working toward an agenda (she was being paid by an insurer) and treated me disrespectfully and in a rude manner. She did not allow me to finish sentences and in one instance when I insisted on explaining a relevant point to her she stated, “I’m a shrink - I can work it out.” Her manner was not consistent with an independent professional. I would avoid her if you are seeking an ‘independent’ medical report as she is comfortable producing a diagnosis that seemed to suit the insurer who was paying her rather than actually providing a practical diagnosis. The psychiatrist I sought after her meeting provided a completely different outcome backed with science with detailed examples. Save your time and heartache and seek a true independent psychologist - not a quack.”

“Deliberately tries to deceive and destroy you while charging a fortune for the insult. Go on a holiday instead, it’s much more therapeutic.”

2015 - 2016

“My GP told me he wouldn’t send me to her if his life depended on it, as she’s notorious for using her patients.”

“Do not go there, she will destroy you like all the others.”

“It’s unfortunate and tragically ironic that a psychiatrist can be so bad at dealing with people. She ruined the last shred of both motivation and ability I had for saving my relationship with my parents. I genuinely believe that seeing this woman left me worse off. I saw her for two years. I stopped six years ago but the rippling effects of her advice and her medicine still follow me. I should have stopped sooner.”

“As many have said, if you are about bedside manner and your doc understanding you, you’re in the wrong place. Rudeness guaranteed! Won’t listen! And all for hundreds of dollars for the pleasure of it! Would have had more fun throwing my money in the gutter.”

“Very disappointed. Her diagnosis changed on a frequent basis. Some predictions were issued as a challenge - “Prove me wrong”. Very poor manner.”

“To me, Dr. Miller is good until you disagree with her. When I disagreed with her, instead of accepting that she might be wrong or why I felt the way that I felt, she went on the attack. It all went downhill from there. She was cold, condescending and unhelpful. Not to mention she was almost always late and never made the time up. If you get along with her, then great… But I am not a mental case that can’t eat humble pie because I didn’t get along with this quack…”

There were many reviews of experiences like these. I feel it paints a very clear picture of what people at their most vulnerable times, are being subjected to. It backs my own experience of being coerced by fellow dark triad personalities in HR to see her, or else illegal threats apply. There are cases on public record in the Fair Work Commission, of Miller’s false statements and deception as per Crimes Act 1900 (NSW). It’s a miscarriage of justice and destruction of the lives and reputations of innocent people who were bullied at work. That needs to be rectified. I’ll cite the case in a later post. Deepinder Miller must finally be investigated and struck off as a registered medical practitioner, to save lives.
